UPCOMING EVENTS

Philanthropy Events:

Lip Sync for Literacy: Lip Sync is Pi Phi’s annual philanthropy event with a sole focus of raising money for literacy initiatives. All fraternities on campus are invited to create a lip sync routine and compete for the title of Lip Sync Champions! Last year, Pi Phi raised over $5000 for Read>Lead>Achieve and crowned the gentlemen of Phi Gamma Delta as champions of the 2019 event! Pi Phi plans to raise even more money at this year’s event in Fall 2021 and spread awareness of the importance of literacy!

Angelgrams: Angelgrams is a new initiative that takes place in February near Valentine's Day to raise money for our literacy initiatives. All students on campus can purchase a set of cookies to be delivered to a chosen recipient. Pi Phi was able to deliver cookies to over 200 students on Valentines Day and raise close to $1000 for Read>Lead>Achieve!

Boys and Girls Club: The Boys and Girls Club of London is a non-profit family recreational facility that provides activities for children and youth. Pi Phi regularly partners with other Greek organizations on campus to volunteer at regular programming at the facility! Some of the activities we help facilitate include playing team sports in the gym, reading with the kids, doing puzzles and board games, and helping out with arts and crafts! We absolutely love volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club of London and we will continue to do so this upcoming year!

Pi Phi Book Drive: Each year, Pi Phi organizes a book drive and donates books to local libraries in London. In Spring 2019, Pi Phi donated 148 children/youth books to the Masonville Public Library! This year, we plan to raise even more books by organizing a Greek-wide book drive with the goal of donating 500 books to local libraries in London!

Family Literacy Day: On Family Literacy Day, the girls volunteer with the London Public Library in a reading program. In this program, our members have read with the children at the library, engaged in literacy based games and activities, and supported the staff in any other capacity. Our strong partnership with the London Library has ensured that Family Literacy Day ran smoothly as well as other partnered events in the future.

Sisterhood Events:

Fall Fair: This fall we went to the London Fair. We went on rides and got food and dessert and had a videographer to film some fun moments. It was a lot of fun and definitely something we are doing again!

Goat Yoga: As the school work load builds up so does stress, the best way to relax and take your mind off work is by being with friends and excercising! That's why each semester we rent out a yoga studio and had an instructor take us through a yoga session. This year we are looking to switch things up from our regular hot yoga by trying the activity outside...with goats!

Skating in Victoria Park: When the snow starts to come down and Victoria Park gets lit up with holiday lights we love to spend an evening skating in Victoria Park! As soon as the weather is permititng we love to host our skating in Victoria park sisterhood! It was a great way to be active, take pictures, have fun and spend time with each other!

Pi Phi Holiday Party: Pi Phi Holiday Party is a sisterhood event where our sisters get to celebrate the up and coming winter holidays. During this holiday party we will be decorating Christmas trees, making cookies, secret Santa, and making holiday cards to give to all the chapters on campus. Pi Phi's holiday party will be the perfect way to wrap up the semester with sisters and spread the holiday cheer before exams begin.

Spring and Fall Formal: Each semester we host our own formal which has become one of the most anticipated events for our sisters. It gives us a reason to dress up, bring a date, dance, and most importantly have an unforgettable night with your sisters.
