First-year of university was a scary experience for me. I was facing the new online schooling system due to COVID while trying to manage five university courses that seemed overbearing. Living in residence made it nearly impossible to make friends, which resulted in a lonely and homesick experience in my first year at Western. I only joined Pi Beta Phi in my second year (this year), and I can't help but imagine how much better and welcoming my first-year experience would have been had I joined Pi Phi. In a matter of four short months, the amount of friends and connections I have made is incredible. The feeling of going to campus and seeing familiar faces gives you a sense of community and belonging. My second year thus far has been a great experience, and I am forever grateful to Pi Phi for the opportunities it has given me.

Joining Pi Beta Phi has been the best decision I have made while going to Western. Since joining Pi Phi in my second year (this year), I have made many amazing friendships and have been welcomed with open arms. I am so honoured and grateful to be a Pi Phi and am thankful for all the opportunities I have been given so far.
